 Trish Idensohn is an Independent Wound Consultant and Director of Comp Consulting Limited, a skin and wound education company based in the United Kingdom. She is also a Research Collaborator with the Experimental Medicine Research Group in the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University, Western Cape, South Africa.Trish holds a Master of Science in Clinical Skin Integrity and Wound Management from Hertfordshire University. She is currently an elected committee member of the International Wound Infection Institute Committee (IWII) and was a development team

member for the 2022 International Consensus Update: Wound Infection in clinical practice, and the 2025 Evidence of Wound Cleansing document. Recently, Trish contributed as a panel member to the development team responsible for the ‘Assessment’ and ‘Specific Populations: Dark Skin Tones’ sections of the International Pressure Injury Guideline 2025

With over 25 years of experience managing her own interdisciplinary private clinical practice as a registered nurse and registered midwife, she has made significant contributions to the field through global lectures, publishing research, and engaging with industry.

She has held numerous leadership positions in nursing and the field of wound management, including serving as the Past National President and Lifetime Honorary Member of the Society of Private Nurse Practitioners, South Africa, and as the Past African Director and Chair of the Global Communication and Marketing Workstream for the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel. She was the Past Principal Lecturer and Coordinator of the Wound Certification Course for the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Trish serves on the editorial boards/panels of Wound Masterclass, the International Wound Journal, and Wound Healing Advances and Management.

Her areas of interest lie in skin integrity and “all things wounds,” addressing a wide range of wound-related challenges, including:

  • Wound infection and moisture-associated skin damage

  • Promoting awareness of diverse skin tones in wound management

  • Prevention and management of chronic and hard-to-heal wounds

  • Addressing the holistic challenges in wound management and wound care

 

Trish is committed to empowering healthcare practitioners to “be the change” in improving patient outcomes through enhanced knowledge, innovation, and evidence-based practice.
